Mullumbimby is undoubtedly a magical place. The scenery and surrounds are breathtaking, the people are interesting and colourful, and the shops and cafes are wonderful places to while away the time.
The Mullumbimby Chamber of Commerce wants to capture some of this magic with their inaugural Magical Mullum Photography Competition, now extended until 31 July.
Judged by Byron Shire Mayor Simon Richardson, Echo Photographer Jeff Dawson and Mullumbimby artist Solveig, the competition is open to Mullumbimby residents both young and old.
Competition organisers Jenelle Stanford says that with cash prizes up for grabs, two age divisions and three categories to choose from, entrants have a good chance of winning.
“This is our first time running the photo competition – we’ve had a great response so far and some really great photos,” Jenelle says.
Entrants can submit their photographs in either the landscape / streetscapes, arty / creative or people / places categories.
Entry fees are $10 for youth (under 18 years) entries and $15 for adult (18+) entries.
The winners of the competition will be announced at the Chamber’s Biggest Little Banquet to be held 3 September.
The complete collection of photographs will go on exhibition at shops around Mullumbimby from 12 August until 14 October.
