The Mullumbimby Community Garden is a not for profit community organisation 100% run by volunteers with our modest financial income coming from membership fees, donations and the occasional hard won grant.[missing full stop]

The MCG is a place of vibrancy, abundance, cultural diversity, friendships, knowledge, sustainable practices and fun. MCG is 100% volunteer operated and our only funding comes from membership fees, small donations and the occasional hard-won grant.

 Community gardens are an ever growing phenomena in Australia and the world, unique places where people come together to grow fresh food, to learn, relax and make new friends… and no two community gardens are alike – each one is as individual as the communities and the landscapes that create them”. [Do you know who’s quote this is?

You are very welcome to visit the garden any day of the week during daylight hours. Please join in! Plant a seedling, water the ground (near some plants!), pull a weed or just have a wander and take in the ambience of this gentle and calming space.

Our beautiful garden has just celebrated 10 years supporting our community with fresh organic produce, events, workshops and general outdoor enjoyment for all ages.

Our slogan is “Growing to Share and Sharing to Grow”.

Our five acre site is managed by Mullum SEED Incorporated. A charity that was born from the activity generated by the MCG. Mullum SEED now supports a number of off site and on site partners. These are the other groups we currently share the site with:

  • The Byron Community College – Permaculture, horticulture & bamboo courses
  • Mullumbimby Mens Shed
  • Reforest Now
  • Mullum Food Co-op;
  • Mullumbimbees Natural Beekeeping Group;
